June 16, 2016 - Draft plans for Arlington Center, outdoor space - reconstruction of the roadways (7pm, Senior Center)
Over the past two months, the town worked with residents and businesses on the first phase of planning, in order make Arlington Center more customer and pedestrian friendly. Working with the engineering firm VHB, there have been two public meetings, including a walkshop and a meeting with the business community to develop a conceptual design for the area. This conceptual design study will result in a scope of work for the reconstruction of Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington Center, from Pond Lane to Mill Street. The project will eventually involve reconstruction of the roadway and improvements to curbs, sidewalks, lighting, street trees and street furniture in the project area. Broadway Plaza will receive special attention, as the town looks for new ways to make the area more inviting and vibrant.
