July 7, 2016 - Support Arlington Center Meet with Town Officials (private meeting)
The co-founders of Support Arlington Center met with Town Officials on July 7, 2016 to review the empty storefront status of Arlington Center. Questions were asked by the co-founders as to what the Town and the community can do to start to improve upon the current situation. Based on the results of our survey as of June 27, 2016, Support Arlington Center reviewed the survey data and the general feedback from users who took our survey. Co-founders of Support Arlington Center were heartened and pleased to hear that the Town is taking the challenges of the Center very seriously, making some important steps already, and considering plans and strategies to address the empty storefronts and to improve Arlington Center's infrastructure, more generally. Town Officials are also in the process of collaborating and working with property owners.
The Town is planning a public community meeting in early Fall to address the challenges of the Center's storefront properties. In this meeting, people can ask Town Officials questions and learn more about what is to become of the Center. The Town also plans to have a meeting in the early Fall to review Arlington Center's outdoor space improvement plans, and reconstruction of the roadways. Co-founders of Support Arlington Center will have a follow up meeting with the Town Officials in August to check in on progress prior to the upcoming community meetings.
